Help! Where did all the Emfics go?

The shadyfiction.com website is currently under construction. The majority of the fics were archived in the forum.

Note: When signing up for a forum account, please be sure to fill out at least SOME personal information like your AIM name, approximate location (I don’t recommend giving your town’s name, just list the city you are nearest or what country you live in) occupation, interests etc…, Whatever you are comfortable with is fine, but please give me something so that I know you aren’t some random spammer jackass. If there’s nothing on the signup sheet but the username and an email address YOU WON’T BE APPROVED.

Also, be sure to list a valid email address. You will need it in order to get your account activation.

How do I get my fanfic on your site?

Anyone can post fanfics in the forum. The stories featured on the main site were chosen from the archives because they were well written. I will post guidelines for getting material onto the main site at a later date.

Again, anyone can post fics in the forum (it’s also the best place to get feedback).

Why do you keep pushing the forum?

Because there’s loads of material there, and membership is free…it takes about five minutes to fill the form out. You don’t have to give your real name. The only thing you truly have to have is a valid email address, and I could give two shits if it’s a freebie Gmail account or your work email. I never sell addresses, and I don’t allow advertising on my site. I do require a small bit of personal info (see the note under “Help! Where did all the Emfics go?”) so that I can weed the spammers out, but you can pick the details you give, or you can email me after you fill out the registration with your username and a note saying you’d like to join.

Do you accept any other kinds of fanfiction?

Yes. There are categories for other types of fanfic and for original writing in the forum.

Why did you get rid of the old layout?

The site files were hopelessly out of sync, some were missing, and I could no longer update most of the pages without blowing something up.

Why don’t you skin the forum to look like the rest of the site?

Because I’m lazy.

Where did all the photos go?

I saved them all. At some point, I’ll try to put in a gallery.

Do you know Marshall/Em/Shady?

No. I have never met him.

Wasn’t shadyfiction.com mentioned in XXL a few years back?

Yes. The article was called “Computer Love.” It wasn’t flattering, but it wasn’t as awful as I’d feared, either. Most of the people who came to the site after it ran were actually interested in the fanfic. We did have a few haters, got laughed at on the old D12 World board, lost a half dozen writers… that was about it, though.

Don’t you think RPF (real person fiction) is kind of creepy?

If it were about my neighbor, yeah. But celebs…I figure it’s part of the territory. And, to me anyway, it really is just fiction.

I heard shadyfiction might be closing. Is that true?

We’ve had a good run. It has to end sometime. I have no immediate plans to close shadyfiction, though.

Does shadyfiction have a sister site?

Yes. It’s called ficaddict, and it’s located here.
